Rules for using car tires in the UAE

Tires are one of the most important parts of any vehicle. They ensure safety and comfort while driving, so it is necessary to keep an eye on their condition.

In the UAE, as in many other countries, there are certain rules on the use of tires, which must be observed. Otherwise, you may put yourself and other road users at risk. For example, the UAE government prohibits driving on highways if the tires are more than 5 years old.

First, it is necessary to keep an eye on tire pressure. Insufficient pressure can lead to increased tire wear, and excessive pressure can lead to improper stability and handling of the vehicle. Due to high temperatures, tire pressure can change, so it is recommended to check it regularly – at least once a month with a reliable pressure gauge.

Also pay attention to the tread depth. UAE legislation sets a minimum depth of 1.6 mm. If the tread gets below this value, the tires should be replaced immediately. The recommended tread depth for tire replacement is 2.0 mm. In addition, pay attention to the condition of the rubber, as the UAE has a very hot climate, the rubber on local cars often dries out, cracks and needs to be replaced.

Do not forget to balance the wheels and also check the camber. Uneven tire wear can be the result of malfunctions of these systems.

It is also necessary to remember about the proper use of tires in extreme conditions. In the UAE, summer temperatures rise to +50°C and this can have a negative impact on the condition of the tires. It is important not to overload the vehicle and avoid sudden maneuvers on hot roads.

Following these rules and legal regulations is an important aspect of ensuring safe and comfortable travel. Choose the right tires, check the pressure and take good care of them to ensure the reliability of your vehicle.
