The process of changing the color of a car is quite simple. It includes 4 steps:
- Receive the NOC (No Objection Certificate)
- Provide this document to a reputable car color changing company
- Change the color according to your wish
- Go to the registration center and register your car with the new color
To change the color you will need a local police permit – NOC, for this you submit a request to the CID (Criminal Investigation Department). You can do this in several ways:
- Through the app
- Website
- Office visits: 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Sunday through Thursday)
- Calling 901
- SPS (Smart Police Station)
The first two options will take no more than 5 minutes, find the “Vehicle Inspection Request” department and follow the instructions.
What documents must be provided to obtain NOC:
- Valid Emirates ID
- Email address
- Vehicle plate number
In addition to the documents, you must attach 5 images of your car. It should be a front view, a back view, a left side, a right side, and a close-up photo.
Select a color
During the registration process, you will be asked to choose the new color you want for your car. You can choose one, or two shades. Note that the app offers a wide palette of colors. If you know the color code of your car, it will make this step much easier.
Cost of changing car color in Dubai
The total cost is 120 AED. This includes a fee of 100 AED for service, 10 AED for knowledge and 10 AED for innovation.
All of these things must be done in order to obtain a NOC. Once your request is processed, you will be approved and can change the color of your car legally. Then, when the color is changed, you will have to register it.
The process
To register your vehicle with the new color, you will need to apply for RTA (Roads and Transportation Authority) approval. To do this you will need the following documents:
