How to register a change of car color in UAE: Step-by-step guide from DEIZ

The process of changing the color of a car is quite simple. It includes 4 steps:

  1. Receive the NOC (No Objection Certificate)
  2. Provide this document to a reputable car color changing company 
  3. Change the color according to your wish
  4. Go to the registration center and register your car with the new color

To change the color you will need a local police permit – NOC, for this you submit a request to the CID (Criminal Investigation Department). You can do this in several ways:

  1. Through the app
  2. Website
  3. Office visits: 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Sunday through Thursday)
  4. Calling 901
  5. SPS (Smart Police Station)

The first two options will take no more than 5 minutes, find the “Vehicle Inspection Request” department and follow the instructions.

What documents must be provided to obtain NOC:

  1. Valid Emirates ID
  2. Email address
  3. Vehicle plate number
